Responsibilities:
This position exists to help develop, design, program, and maintain the College's Internet and Intranet websites. This position will also be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining applications that store, manage and report information for the College. In this position, the individual will work closely with the Web Team to assist faculty and staff in integrating web-based technology into teaching and learning activities at the College.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in the following areas: design, code, test and install Web pages using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, Content Management Systems and/or other Web-page development tools.
* Demonstrated ability in creating dynamic web sites that incorporate data stored in databases.
* Demonstrated experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL server.
* Knowledge and understanding of strategies and techniques used for the design, development and testing of web-based applications.
* Comfortable designing, normalizing, implementing, optimizing, and managing transactional databases in a live, web-based environment.
* Applicants must be fluent in standards-compliant HTML and CSS.
* Strong background in interactive/new media technologies and languages including ActionScript, PHP, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, and streaming media.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Extensive knowledge of PHP programming language;
* Web 2.0 or mobile development experience;
* Post-secondary education is preferred, but professional web site design and development can be substituted for education;
* Experience working for a higher education institution.
